Internal fortitude

The Cards on the table: We open our reading with the element of Silver. We have the Fool, your signifier, followed by the Angel Lauviah. Below these three there are two knights; a knight of wands, belonging to the realm of Atziluth, the realm of divine emanation; a knight of Swords, belonging to the world of Yetzirah, the realm of formation.   We are blessed to have a major key showing up so honestly and openly, it is the Justice Card. In the Oswald Wirth tarot deck, Justice is attributed to the letter 8 and therefore has the letter Chet attached to it. As a reminder; in Crowley’s tarot this is not the case, the attributed Hebrew letter changes much about the meanings of a card, as you will see later in this video. And finally, we have the 5 of Pentacles, the influence of Gevurah. Its astrological influence of mercury in Taurus – signifying a mentality about our livelihood, most notably our earthly gains and possessions. Straight away there are a couple of elements jumping out, suc...

The Gnostic Spark – Divine Will born from suffering

Image
Leviathan The house spans from Capricorn all the way to Pisces. Pluto in conjunction with the Ascendant, revealing a transformative period as the ‘ship’ is steered furthest away from the shores, facing the leviathan. Under stormy circumstances - a difficult collision in a foreign place with no land in sight - all that matters in this predicament is the vessel carrying the soul across the great divide, weathering the storm. Back in the days when the great sea was unexplored and the thalassophobia or bathophobia produced itself a leviathan- it would prematurely prevent people from crossing the divide. Could one face a crippling fear and trust that our vessel and narrow understanding will eventually survive to expand? The key is given to us the moment we have come to the realisation that the world around us changes and that one day, the inevitable comes knocking on our door in its stead to take us by the hand. Leviathan It is very normal to resist a sudden change, if anything,...

Kings and their Kingdom; Social Mobility

Image
"Three of a kind" The very first thing that is immediately apparent is that all cards are masculine: we have the King of Wands, the King of Swords and the Emperor. Very interesting! Another thing that is quite immediate as a commonality between the cards, and that is the Sephira Tiphareth. This resembles the centre of the Tree of Life and so you could say that Kings in Tarot do heavy duty stuff – in the sense that they pull from all areas of the Tree of Life and have a great deal of responsibility to shoulder also. Inherently, it means that they show the crux of the matter and also, teach you how to occupy a place of transcendence over the mundane, most notably through means of influence and self-agency. The other two cards are Convention, which realises venus in the 10th House, or in Capricorn and Contrition, associated with Pluto and the letter Samekh. Here too, the theme of hierarchy and agency come about in various ways. As well that of professionalism and accountability....

Portae Lucis: Ceres ⚳ - Week 8

Image
Ceres ⚳ This one caught my eye immediately and it may be speaking of a compelling story about redemption. This dwarf-planet is ready to move into a new sign; the sign of Aries, and the first house - like a true resurrection! It sits between two Arabic points of children and rebirth. Look at how interesting this is:  It calls forth tension the way it is right now. It isn't truly near the Ascendant just yet. There are still things that need to be done in order for it to see the light of day. Ceres speaks of natural cycles; it has been given the connections with nature and with motherhood. In a way, as it is positioned here, it reminds me of the phenomenon of genetic memory. Experiences and events that can be passed down many generations, sometimes considered an irrationality when approached from a surface level, but it actually plays a very important part in our survival. These memories can be passed down from mother to child. And one way to show the effectiveness of genetic me...

Portae Lucis: Children of the Sun - week 8

Image
We are united   There is something so universal about it, when Aries sits in the first house like this, occupying the concept of a collective north node; a shared destiny across all nations. It's just a concept of course, nothing more - and that's what this seems to be all about - concepts, ideas, something vague and still not so deep. It's under developed and not really put into practice, and yet we could pretend it's actually already there and it's really working.  What a trip! The north node is in Gemini in this instance, but I would like to start with the Sun and see what it's doing right now, in this very reading. Children of the Sun: Our good old Sun is located at the very beginning of the 12th house, the very first degrees of Pisces ruled by Saturn and Venus, making a tight aspect with the fixed star Enif, which holds characteristics of Mars and Mercury.  The Star is associated with ships and changeable weather. Enif finds its home in the constellation ...
