Portae Lucis: Children of the Sun - week 8

We are united

There is something so universal about it, when Aries sits in the first house like this, occupying the concept of a collective north node; a shared destiny across all nations. It's just a concept of course, nothing more - and that's what this seems to be all about - concepts, ideas, something vague and still not so deep. It's under developed and not really put into practice, and yet we could pretend it's actually already there and it's really working. What a trip!

The north node is in Gemini in this instance, but I would like to start with the Sun and see what it's doing right now, in this very reading.

Children of the Sun:

Our good old Sun is located at the very beginning of the 12th house, the very first degrees of Pisces ruled by Saturn and Venus, making a tight aspect with the fixed star Enif, which holds characteristics of Mars and Mercury.
The Star is associated with ships and changeable weather. Enif finds its home in the constellation of Pegasus, so it is equally a reminder of dreams and ambitions - of vanity and of hubris.

The position of the Sun seems so very susceptible to occult forces, or in other words, things that aren't understood very well, but are part of the constellations within our psyche that could dictate our everyday lives. It makes a direct and easy connection to the 10th house, so it suggests a strong Capricornian - or Saturnian streak - that intertwines so very naturally with it, it's probably shocking how this one comes out to play...

The Sun's antiscium is located in Libra, rule of law and court. Dictators and judges. So where does Saturn operate I wonder? Libra is initially considered the collective South Node as a concept. It's not true, though! Not in this case anyway. So, this confusing mess of having a concept much like these sterilised ideas of the collective north node and south node, it seems to serve as a very misguided idea.

It's only in this particular case though - I'm reading the horary intuitively, so everything shifts and moves, like mutable Pisces.

This antiscium, sits at 28 degrees of Libra, so the very end of the sign with the characteristics of Jupiter and Mars. This particular region is occupied by Boötes, and it has a tight orb with the fixed star Izar. It is very interesting, because of it's once collective ideology associated with it.

According to this (awesome) article:

"Of very deep meaning to us is the star Izar, ε Boötis. From long before present the constellation system was recognized, Epsilon Boötis was revered by ancient Peoples, especially in Africa and South America, as a star from which their ancestors had first come to this planet. Since it is 150 light years away, the story is unlikely to say the least. But it is quite uncanny that this binary star’s components are in relationships to each other almost exactly as Sun and Phaethon must have been before the Great Disaster began.
It is reasonable to suggest, then, that early astronomers discovered the kinship of the Izar binary to our own former state, and that their findings were announced by the media of the time, not as “This is like what we came from’, but ‘This is where we came from’. We can imagine the popular press doing the same now." Astrology King, Izar Star

Boötes holds the character of Mercury and Saturn, and it also has an association with the the Hebrew letter Teith ( ט ) which draws on our inner resources. It cares to know what happens within us - our own occultations if you will. These things we keep hidden from others, our traits, talents and projects we nourish in our private time, but also the grudges and hateful plans we hatch.

What is hidden can come from the root of good, like the unborn infant still growing inside the mothers womb, or from the root of evil, like an unsuspected snake laying secretly in wait within the confines of a basket.
